Answering YOUR Boudoir Questions

There are many common questions for photographers in general, but I wanted to make it more specific to me. So here I am, answering your boudoir questions!

What if I’ve never modelled before?

This is not an issue. When we are planning the shoot I will send over examples of poses and ideas for you to look at. During the shoot, I will guide you with verbal cues, directions and the occasional physical example by yours truly.

Can the photos be kept private?

All photos are kept 100% private unless agreed upon otherwise. Boudoir is an empowering experience, but it is very personal, and it’s done for you. Should you decide to let me use your photos for promotional purposes, there is an option to stay anonymous, but for the most part, you are in control of your photos and who sees them.

Can I bring someone with me?

I encourage it. Bring someone you’re comfortable with along to the shoot. Bear in mind you may have to change in front of them and show your body, so I really mean someone you’re comfortable with.

Creating a comfortable environment for my clients is something I strive for and leads to a better experience. The more relaxed someone is, the more they can let go and enjoy the photoshoot.

What outfits do I need?

Whatever you already own will always be more than enough. I will never say “oh you need a corset to go with this”. If you want to buy some new lingerie and accessories, please feel free, but never feel like you have to. Buy what YOU want if anything at all. Everything can be made to look beautiful and sexy, and everyone can look beautiful and sexy in anything.

How long does it take?

My shoots tend to take around 30 minutes per outfit, so it depends on what you’ve got your mindset too! Don’t forget that changing outfits and moving around props, lighting, touching up makeup, giving feedback and guidance does take up time. I’d always suggest adding 30 minutes to an hour on top of what you think you need. This way you should never feel rushed or under pressure and can get the most out of the experience.

How much does it cost?

I am currently creating my packages for 2021. They will range from £50 up to £250, so there should be an option for everyone. But if there’s something I’m not offering, or you would like to inquire about, please reach out to me! I’d love to create a custom plan for you, with you!

I like photos like this, can you do that?

Most of the time, yes. If you’re in love with a certain photo or pose you’ve seen I will do my best to capture the magic you see. However, trying to conform to someone else’s style or look often hinders performance if the artists’ styles don’t align.

I always suggest choosing your photographer based on if you match styles, tastes, and goals. You may love them as a person, but asking them to work on something they have never tried before may not give the results you’re looking for. Find someone whose art you love, and then the process becomes so much smoother.

How should I do my hair and make-up?

This depends on the theme of the shoot, but most often I suggest neutral and natural make-up, with hair kept easy to control and low maintenance.

This may change as I am looking for some local hair and makeup artists to either provide this service as part of my own package or to suggest pre-shoot deals. This way clients would have to think about one less thing, so hopefully, this will be offered in the near future!

I would love to book a shoot, but after I ______.

There will always be something you could wait for, toning up that little bit more, losing that little extra bit of weight, getting a tan, having your hair done, etc…

My whole reasoning behind photography is helping people see their own beauty and encouraging self-love. In my opinion, there is no better time than now because there will always be an excuse if you create one. You are incredible and beautiful, I’m just here to help you see it.

If I don’t like this part, can you edit that?

Yes.

However, I keep my editing to a minimum and only cover up small spots, blemishes, inconsistent lighting and so on. I will always try to accommodate your requests, but I believe in showing what’s real.

Can I buy the photos as prints/an album?

Yes, you can.

Albums and prints, among other various options, are available after every shoot. They are priced and sold separately after you have chosen and received your edits.
