Brand New Boudoir Interview with Isaac Cox Photography

I’ve had the pleasure of working with Elizabeth a couple of times now with more still to come, so I decided to ask her a few questions and conduct a short boudoir interview. The questions range from why she chose to work with me as a photographer? And how I and the photos I take make her feel. I love to learn from my own experiences and take feedback on board to improve my process; from the initial greeting to product delivery, and beyond. So here’s a short Q&A she was gracious enough to do for me.

Why did you say yes to working with me?

I haven’t been modelling for long at all so I always feel sceptical when a photographer gets in contact asking to shoot with me. Looking at your work, it’s very professional and the models always looked so good. I’m not your Victoria secret model and I’ve got my insecurities, I don’t want to let people down if I’m not good enough, but you were always so encouraging and positive.

How did you choose me?

Elizabeth in her red harness.

Getting more and more involved in the modelling world, you start to follow similar people. I’d seen some of your work on my suggested posts page and thought it was stunning. When you reached out to work with me I was immediately excited. I kind of didn’t want to miss the opportunity so had to go for it!

What in the process made you feel comfortable?

We had a lot of communication before the shoot discussing what kind of style we wanted to do and what we wanted to achieve. On the day, as simple as it is, when I was getting changed you looked away and it made me feel very respected.

How did you feel during the shoot?

We had such a laugh during the shoot. Horrifically singing and dancing along to music, chatting about our interests and getting to know each other. I felt really comfortable and you guided me where you needed me to be.

How did the photos make you feel?

When I received the photos I was pretty excited, I’d obviously seen your work before, but seeing myself in the way that you portrayed me, I just felt sexy and confident. You knew what would make me look good and I definitely felt good. I felt empowered knowing it was my choice what levels I shot to and what photos were edited.

Did you ever feel judged when posting or talking about what you did?

Never, I felt so at ease and had such a good time. We’ve shot on a couple of occasions now, and I will be coming back.

What would you say to others thinking about having a shoot?

If it’s something you’ve been wanting to do or thinking about for a while, then 100% do it. Don’t wait to be in that “perfect” body shape or that goal weight. As the photographer, I trusted you to know what looks good and will make me feel confident. And on the day when you showed me the photographs you’d just taken, I knew my trust was well placed.
